Advice

Hi everyone!

A few weeks ago, I went to a theatre event with my mum and over there we met one of her friends who is also involved in theatre. We had actually seen him perform in a play called “Marry Go Round”. There was some time left for the event to start, so we were talking to him and he told us some really interesting things about how he started theatre, and how he balances his work and his passion.

Ameet uncle told us that he started by training with Yours Truly, which is a Bangalore based group that does a lot of different styles of theatre. Check out their website!

He said that he doesn’t do full time theatre, but finds time after work and on weekends to rehearse and train. He also spoke about the audition process for plays and how sometimes someone may recommend you to the director, while other times you have to go through a really long audition. We ended the conversation by discussing how children and the younger generations are involved in theatre and how important it is to keep that interest intact. 🙂

I found it quite awesome that Ameet uncle manages to divide his time between his job and his passion for theatre. It is really nice to meet people who have experience in theatre and learn some new things from them. 🙂

That’s it for today, then. 🙂

See you next time!

Rid.
